Water Your Garden

Installation of Automatic Garden Irrigation Systems

How It Works

Drip or micro-irrigation technology uses a network of Polyethylene ("Poly") pipes/hoses to run water with low pressure to plants, shrubs and trees.  The system consists of a main hose that is 1/2" Poly tube.  The 1/2" Poly tube attaches to a standard outdoor water faucet.  Depending upon water pressure, a regulator may be installed with a filter and the client has the option to purchase an automatic timer.

The main hose is placed centrally throughout your garden.  Then, In-Line ¼” Poly tubing is run from the main hose to each plant, pot or hanging basket.  Either a spray or drip emitter is placed on the end of each ¼” Poly tube, depending upon the plants particular watering requirements.

While the system is designed for aboveground installation, it may be buried under a sidewalk, driveway or in the lawn as a means to extend the irrigation system to different watering locations.  For aesthetic purposes, some clients elect to cover the system in their gardens with mulch.
